Sateesh R. Prakash, MD, FACP

Dr. Sateesh Prakash is a gastroenterologist with interest in hepatology and inflammatory bowel disease. He grew up in Jonesboro, Georgia and attended school at Woodward Academy in college park graduating with honors. He received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A) with honors and Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Louisville in Kentucky. During medical school, Dr.Prakash received a scholarship to complete a project relating to photo journalism of tropical medicine in India.

He then completed medical residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of South Florida College of Medicine where he rotated through Tampa General Hospital, James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, and Moffitt Cancer Center. He then attended Cleveland Clinic Florida for subspecialty training and completed his Gastroenterology fellowship at New York Methodist Hospital, affiliated with Weill-Cornell. He was chief fellow during his final year of Gastroenterology training and served on the hospital graduate education committee and Gastroenterology program evaluation committee. Most notably, Dr.Prakash co-directed the Brooklyn Hepatology Symposium.

He is a published author and actively participates in the American College of Gastroenterology. He has previously served on the ACG patient care committee and was recently elected a fellow in the American College of Physicians. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, watching movies, biking, and exploring new restaurants with his wife, Hima Reddy.
